Start with a hint, then check a route.
Enter the starting word and the target word in the solver, then chooseFind a path. Both words must use the same number of letters, from three to six. The tool checks a pinned, licensed word list and finds a shortest route by changing exactly one letter at each step. Start with the first revealed rung if you want a clue, or show the full path when you are ready to check your answer. The search tool works online without an account, downloads, or an AI-generated guess. For a five-letter puzzle, type both five-letter words and look for a chain of valid intermediate words. If no route appears, try another spelling or word pair: the result may simply fall outside this dictionary’s verified coverage.
How the solver works
A deterministic shortest path, not an AI guess.
The dedicated solver searches a pinned dictionary of41,690 licensed words with a level-by-level breadth-first search. Each word is a node, and a legal edge changes exactly one letter while keeping the new spelling in the approved list. Because every move has the same cost, the first verified route that reaches the target is the shortest route available in this dictionary.
That makes the result repeatable and inspectable: there is no AI guess, hidden answer database, or scraped word list. The solver returns the complete path when you want to check it, or lets you reveal one rung at a time when you are still solving. A no-path result is a transparent dictionary boundary, so a different game or word list may legitimately produce another answer.

What is a word ladder?
A word ladder turns one word into another by changing one letter per step while keeping every intermediate step a valid word.
Does the solver always find a path?
No. A path can be absent from our pinned licensed dictionary even when another dictionary contains one. The result always states that limitation.
